M.Tech in Digital Electronics & Communications (DEC)
Department of ECE offers one PG program Electronics & Communication Engg. in which
Digital Electronics and Communication is one of the specializations. The branch was established
in 2004 with maximum intake of 18 students. Candidates who have completed or passed their
B.E. / B.Tech. / AMIE Engineering Examination (ECE, EIE, TCE, EEE, ML) or equivalent
examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate in the relevant field of Engg. Course in VTU or
any other university / institution or any other examination recognized as equivalent degree in
any state of the country are eligible. Eligible GATE score or PGCET score is compulsory for
applying to the M.Tech. (ECE-Digital Electronics & Communication) program. The Master of
Technology course in Digital Electronics & Communication Systems gives an overview of
different digital communication techniques used in the present scenario. It also gives an
overview of the digital electronics with usage of hardware languages in design and
implementation. The Master of Technology course provides students with a solid technical
background and research capabilities in the design, development and manufacture of electronic
devices and systems used in a wide spectrum of communication applications. From the year
2023 onwards, DSCE is offering NEP based PG course in which along with teaching, more of
industry training, self-learning activities and interdisciplinary courses are given more
importance. Subjects like Computational methods for communications, Advanced digital
communications, Modern DSP, Digital design with FPGA, Advanced communication networks,
5G mobile communication technology, Research methodology & IPR, etc will be taught with
number of elective subjects, also an institutional elective will also be taught.
Department of ECE in DSCE is equipped with good labs, professors with vivid specialization
and good placement cell. Students who satisfy the company criteria will be placed in good
companies. There are two laboratory courses, one in the first sem & other in the second sem,
rest of them are core courses and elective courses, each semester has 22 credits, the entire
program is of 88 credits.
