MBA of international standards]

MBF - Highly specialised program in Financial Economics. The program has 18 out of 36 papers with core finance focus. Other courses include courses on Economics, General Management, OB, Accounting, HRM, Business Laws, Marketing, QT, OR, Econometrics, IT, Taxation, Business Ethics and General Studies etc. It is the only program in finance in the country with curricula at par with MBA of international standards, based on international experience and the needs of Indian industry. It is a 120 credit course.

  Eligibility

Graduation in any discipline from Indian or Foreign recognized university with minimum of 50% marks [45% marks for SC/ST/OBC/Work Experience of 5 years].

Candidates appearing in the final year Bachelor's examination are eligible to apply. Such Candidates, if selected ,will be given provisional admission subject to their clearing graduation. The certification of the same has to be submitted before 1st Semester exams.

Selection Criteria

Admission to IIF programs is very rigorous. The admission to regular program is through written test (CAT / XAT / AIMAT / C-MAT (AICTE) / GMAT/GRE (USA)) and Interview. Candidates who qualify for written test are called for Interview.
Exemption from Written Test : Graduation / Post Graduation marks [> 75 %] for Engineering / Technical / Science streams & [> 65 %] for Commerce & Arts streams); NRIs, Top three University Toppers, First College Topper & Celebreties in Sports, Arts, Music, Dance & Modelling etc. Candidates exempted from written test are required to take Interview.

NRI/Foreign/Corporate sponsored candidates are exempt from written test. However, all such candidates are required to appear for interview.

Admission is strictly on merit. Convessing in any form would disqualify a candidate for admission.

Program Module

The first two semesters are designed to provide the basics of the finance function along with the other functional areas of management. Highly advanced inputs of Finance are provided in Trimester III to VI, specializing the future manager in different fields/areas of finance.

At the end of the year all students undergo Experiential Corporate Exposure training in industrial, business organizations and international agencies. The objective is basically to provide the students with real life exposure which they cannot gain from simple classroom study. They get opportunity to learn beyond the class room by solving business problems and decision making during the training period.

In the Trimester IV to VI semester the students get an opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in solving the real world problems faced by the industry.A student is expected to be associated with a corporate house to conduct the study for the MBF Thesis and ST Thesis. A student has to pass the program within five years from the date of enrollment.

Admission Highlights

Admission to IIF programs is very rigorous. The admission to regular program is through written test [XAT/ AIMA-MAT/ GMAT] and Group Discussion(GD) and Interview. Candidates which qualify in written test are called for GD and Interview.

The Grades are given on the basis of candidates past academic records, other achievements, work experience, professional growth positioning and personal interview for all category of candidates.

Written Test Exemption is granted to candidate securing graduation/ post graduation aggregate marks> 75%( Engg./ Technical/ Science streams) & > 65% (for Commerce/ Arts streams). NRI/ Foreign/ Corporate sponsored candidates are exempt from written test. However all such candidates are required to appear for GD and interview.

The admission policy of the Institute takes into consideration a candidate's total background.

ELIGIBILITY for ADMISSION to Regular Programme: MBF/PGPM/EMBF/FBA (Finance)

Graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) from a UGC/AIU approved university with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC). Students appearing in final year/awaiting final year exam results are eligible to apply.

Good score in any of the national level Common Admission Entrance Test conducted by IIMs or XAT, AIMA, ATMA, GMAT, AICTE-CMAT or any other State University MBA Entrance Examinations.

NRIs / Foreign Citizens can seek admission based on their inter-se merit, group discussion and personal interview, as per MHRD, GOI guidelines.

IIMs / XLRI / AIMA / any other testing agency have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Final selection is based on overall performance in:

1. Graduation with minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC)

2. Entrance Examinations.

Those applicants who do not fulfil the Entrance Exam Criteria, may check for eligibilty under Written Test Exemption Category based on Graduation / PG Marks for Merit Seats Category.

Exemption from Written Test : Self or Corporate Sponsored - NRIs / Foreign / Self (Paid) seats / Exceptionally bright students are exempted from written test. For more details, fill the form and contact the institute.

Special Consideration would be given to female candidates, national / state level sports persons, candidates with achievements in extra curicullar activities such as arts, culture, music, dance, paintings etc, outstanding achievement in any other field/ activities highlighting leadership, decision making qualities, work experience, additional educational qualifications, industry sponsorship, contribution to social causes/community service.

6. 2% Seats are reserved for the wards of serving /retd. defence/paramilitary forces/police personnel.

7. 5% seats reserved for applicants from J&K, Northeast, Naxal affected areas, wards of defence/police/para-military services personnel who laid down their lives in any operation.

8. Reservation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS or other categories (if any) is provided as per GOI directions.

9. Unfilled seats under vi, vii and viii are offered to the general candidates.
