Master of Laws (LL.M.) specialisation explores the complex legal issues arising out of international banking, trade, and business from the standpoint of both transactional perspective and dispute settlement mechanisms (litigation and arbitration). Particularly oriented towards practice in these fields, the modules have a distinctly international and comparative dimension whilst at the same time drawing strongly on the rich tradition and experience of Indian law.
UPES’ curriculum framework is holistic in its overall structure and yet focuses on the individual need of the student to discover, experience, explore and challenge. Along with the core subject, students have the option to choose from subject-focused specialisations. They are also allowed to choose minor/exploratory subject from other schools at UPES that are: School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences, School of Design, School of Modern Media, and School of Liberal Studies.
Further, based on the multifaceted needs of the global workplace and evolving lifestyles, the curriculum offers Signature and Life-Skills courses through School for Life. To round off this learning experience, students are required to do mandatory internships in the social sector, government/public sector, and industry. LL.M. (International Business Law)

Businesses conventionally handled within the commercial banking and insurance sectors are making creative use of the structured capital market methods, and substantial developments are taking place both in trading systems and in the post-trade infrastructure. Along with new opportunities, these changes present new regulatory and legal risk management challenges as well. LLM with specialization in Corporate and Securities Law course provides a strong intellectual analysis of these markets, including insights from substantive private law, regulation, and practice.
LL.M. (Cyber Law)
LLM with specialization in Cyber Law course gives an overview of cyber laws including the legal regime related to cyber-crime, copyright issue in cyberspace, cyber-crimes, and related subjects. Environment Law and Policy

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
LLM with specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) course explores in detail the types of rules, policies, and controls put in place to determine the behaviour of a corporation, and the intended outcome of those measures. Taking a practical look at how to identify, set, and uphold a corporate governance means that the students will be able to enrich their understanding and skillset in this area, with the support of experienced practitioners who can demonstrate real-life examples to contextualize what one learns.
LL.M. (Energy Law)
LLM with specialization in Energy Law course provides a holistic view of the techno-commercial and policy-cum-regulatory framework of energy and its relationship with other sectors. The curriculum deepens the students’ understanding of the relationship between commercial economics, industry profitability, regulatory reforms vis-a-vis conservation, development, environmental impact, and judicious use of resources.
