Controlled by the Graduate Management Aptitude Council (GMAC), the NMAT (Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test) exam is an aptitude test to fill out the MBA and other management courses seats of NMIMS, and other prominent B-Schools.
Dissimilar to other entrance exams, NMAT has a unique exam process, the exam window opens for 75 days every year to conduct the test, and in this exam, candidates can schedule their exam date and time whenever they want. Also, note that a candidate can attempt a similar exam a maximum of 3 times after the gap of 15 in a testing cycle. In addition to the knowledge, some flagship colleges consider the scorecard of the first attempt only, while others provide leverage to submit the highest score among the three.
This aptitude test has top-level assistance; it generates questions as per the candidate's aptitude, the question level goes high as per the candidate’s previous response to the question, there is no negative marking in this exam, the scorecard will be generated as per the difficulty level of the questions attempted by the individual candidate.

Eligibility Criteria
The exam conducting authorities have decided some eligibility criteria candidates need to fulfil before registering themselves for the exam, below are the points candidates need to check:-
- Candidate must have completed their graduation following 10+2+3 or four years of education pattern.
- Must have secured not less than 50% marks.
- The degree must belong to a recognised university.
- Candidates who are in their final semester can also apply for the exam, the exam will be done on a provisional basis, until the marksheet and related certificates of the qualifying exam are submitted.
- There will be no age barrier for the exam.
Exam pattern for the NMAT exam
The NMAT exam offers flexibility to candidates by conducting the exam in two modes - IBT and CBT. Candidates can opt for the exam mode that suits them best. Those who opt for the IBT mode can take the test from the comfort of their home in a remote proctored setting. NMAT by GMAC is an aptitude test that measures both your accuracy and speed during the examination. Although it has no negative marking scheme, the exam is quite challenging and requires a lot of practice. To help you create the perfect exam strategy, here are some points to keep in mind:
- First of all, you need to know your whole syllabus.
- Then identify your strengths and weaknesses.

- Make a study plan and remember it should include practice sessions, to improve your weak points.
- Solve at least 3 reading comprehension passages daily to maintain your speed.
