UPESMET is primarily an entrance test for management studies. The controlling body is the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, India. The entrance test is methodically designed to assess general awareness and analytical & verbal skills. It focuses on identifying individuals with the potential to excel in the dynamic field of management.
UPES, the controlling body offers graduate and post-graduate programmes in study areas such as infrastructure, IT, design, planning, Architecture, energy, legal studies, and public policies. UPES conduct the exam multiple times in a year in online proctored mode.
UPES has structured this exam’s pattern and followed it since its commencement. The exam contains 140 MCQs of one mark each divided into four different sections such as English, General knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Skills.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for UPESMET should meet the specified criteria to appear in the exam:-
- Candidate must have secured atleast 50% marks in their Xth, XIIth, and graduation.
- Degree must be recognised from any Recognised University
- Candidates who are in their final year can also apply for the same, but they should gain a passing certificate at the time of document verification.
- There is no age limit set by the authorities.
