Government City College Hyderabad

Government City College (Autonomous), Hyderabad is one of the oldest colleges in the city and is run by the Telangana government. Its history goes back to 1865, when the first city school was set up in the Dar-ul-uloom. The school moved into its present building in 1921, began offering intermediate courses under Osmania University that year, and became City College in 1929. It was a constituent college of Osmania University until the government took it over in 1965.

Today the college is autonomous and states that NAAC has accredited it with an A++ grade and a CGPA of 3.67. Most of its programmes are in arts, commerce and sciences: B.A. and B.Com. courses were added in 1967, several B.Sc. and B.A. combinations in 1986 and 1998, and postgraduate courses from 2001 and 2003 onwards, including M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Mathematics. Its departments include Commerce, Computer Applications, Economics, Statistics, and Tourism and Travel Management. The college's page on the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education portal does not give MBA details such as intake or fees, so check these directly with the college.

The college appears on Telangana's TS ICET institute list for the MBA, so MBA admission is through TS ICET and the state counselling. The college's portal page only has a fee payment link and does not list amounts, so confirm the fee when you report.
