Frequently asked questions.
How is the CAT score calculated?
Each correct answer gets 3 marks. A wrong answer to a multiple-choice question loses 1 mark, while a wrong answer to a TITA (type-in-the-answer) question loses nothing. Unanswered questions get 0. The maximum is 204 marks.
Does this calculator give my CAT percentile?
No. IIMs normalise scores across the three slots and publish scaled scores and percentiles with the result. This calculator gives your expected raw score from the answer key.
How many TITA questions are there in CAT?
It varies by slot. In recent years DILR and QA had the most TITA questions and VARC only a few. Enter your wrong TITA answers separately so they are not penalised.
When is the CAT 2026 result?
The CAT 2026 notification says results will be out by the first week of January 2027 on iimcat.ac.in.
