The PGDM offered by the Indus Business Academy is a two-year full-time residential managerial program that is approved by AICTE and NBA-accredited. This program is designed not just to prepare the candidates for employment, but also to make them ready for leadership. While at the Indus Business Academy, the candidates are groomed to become professionals who are creative, practical, ethical, and prepared for the challenges that the industry presents.
IBA’s PGDM program is that the format follows a residential pattern. This indicates that the students stay in college throughout the period when pursuing this program. Staying in college helps the students stay more concentrated because, in addition to being in college, they also meet up in college, which benefits them in multiple ways because they learn the whole day long, be it in the morning sessions or late-night sessions.
The PGDM application is spread over six trimesters. This is completed in a span of two years. Every year contains three trimesters. This program is designed in a manner that the basics of Management are provided to the student, and gradually, the student is exposed to the advanced topics and strategic learning.
The admissions are provided at the national level entrance exam. On clearing the entrance exam cut-off, the process involves a review of the Statement of Purpose, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview. The institute is interested in choosing those candidates who are crystal clear about their intentions, eager to learn, and amenable to development. The sanctioned strength is 180, resulting in optimal competition along with individual attention.
The first year (Trimester I to III) is concentrated on creating a solid foundation in management. Topics that will be covered include all core subjects of management in order for students to comprehend the workings of different parts of any organisation. These core subject areas are: Marketing Management, Financial Management, Managerial Accounting, Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Managerial Economics, Quantitative Methods, Business Law, and Information Technology in Management.
Along with this, they are taught Managerial Communication, Business Research Methods, Production & Operations Management, Management Perspectives, and subjects associated with the current knowledge-driven economy. These subjects enable the student to comprehend the functioning of the modern enterprise, in addition to the strategic decisions taken.
IBA pays equal emphasis on personality development and soft skills training in the first year, too. YES Plus: Art of Living, personality development activities, and management skills training sessions, such as sales, negotiation, personality development, and professional behavior, help students develop confidence, communication, teamwork, sales, and professional skills.
By the completion of the first year, the students are introduced to the process of choosing dual specializations. IBA offers the student the facility to choose two specializations, thereby enhancing his/her employability options. The specializations available are Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Retail, International Business, Operations Management, Business Analytics & E-business, and Entrepreneurship Management.
This two-field specialisation system assists in giving the student expertise in more than one field. For instance, the student can choose to specialise in both Marketing and Business Analytics or Finance and International Business, which works perfectly in today’s recruitment environment because employers require people to know more than one thing.
The second year includes subjects such as management, developing skills for management, enterprise resource planning, etc. The Advanced Year includes more applied subjects such as Strategic Management & Business Policy, Enterprise Resource Planning, etc. The subjects are a combination of theory and application. Personality development is also a part of the course, where the students are equipped to enter the corporate world seamlessly.
Every specialization has its own list of electives. The topics that marketing students study are Consumer Behaviour, Brand Management, Sales and Distribution, Advertising, Retail Marketing, B2B Marketing, and Digital Strategies. The topics that Finance students study are Financial Markets, Portfolio Management, Banking, Derivatives, Strategic Finance, Taxation, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Apart from the academics, IBA lays great emphasis on practical experience. Students are involved in activities such as internships, live projects, case analysis, industry visits, guest lectures, and simulation. Certifications such as Six Sigma, ERP experience, and analytics tools training are also incorporated into the curriculum.
Code of conduct and values are also a crucial component of the PGDM program. Study subjects and programs related to ethics and business, corporate governance, social responsibility, and community engagement assist learners in attaining a responsible mindset.
To apply, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum requirement of 50% marks (45% for reservations). The total fee for the two-year PGDM course is approximately ₹10.32 lakhs, according to some online sources. Scholarships of ₹50,000-1.5 lakhs are offered, depending on entrance exams, scores, and performance.
The PGDM at Indus Business Academy is well-balanced in terms of academics, specializations, practical knowledge, personality development, and value-based education. The hostel system, six-trimester format, variety of electives, and emphasis on being industry-ready make this course a very sound option for people wanting to branch out in marketing, finance, HR management, analytics, operations, management consulting, international business, or entrepreneurship.
