One of the biggest strengths of IBA is that it runs only one program – the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). This program is considered equivalent to an MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Because IBA focuses only on PGDM, all facilities, faculty attention, and campus resources are dedicated completely to management students. This kind of single-program focus is rare and helps students get better exposure, guidance, and support throughout their two years on campus.
IBA provides a two-year full-time residential PGDM course. Students remain within the campus premises, thereby enabling them to remain concentrated and actively take part in academic as well as other activities. Some of the core specialization fields include Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations. Others include Retail Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, and Business Analytics. These programs are structured in line with the market requirements so that students can get employed immediately after their graduation.
The curriculum is a combination of theory and practice. Along with the basic courses in Managerial Economics, Organizational Behaviour, Marketing Management, Financial Management, and Business Research, the students are also made aware of various global certifications. These certifications consist of Six Sigma Green Belt, CAPSIM Strategy Simulation from the USA, ERP courses, learning a foreign language, and Peregrine Global Business Certification (USA). All these play an important role in making the students understand how businesses operate in reality, not just on paper.
IBA has attained some major approvals and accreditations, which increase its authenticity. It is approved by the AICTE, accredited by NBA, and its PGDM is equivalent to an MBA by AIU. Internationally, IBA is accredited by IACBE in the USA. Students are assigned live projects, case studies, internships, and simulations. The IBA further conducts an Overseas Business Study Mission to Dubai, in which students are made aware of global business processes and corporate culture. Placement training programs involve resume development, mock interviews, aptitude development, and personality development.
Life at IBA is lively and interesting. Students have formed different activity groups based on academics, cultures, sports, and social causes. There is a host of activities at the campus, including corporate events, cultural fest, lectures, and celebration of events like Maha Shivratri.
