Pedagogy

The major part of the course is delivered through case based pedagogy. This pedagogy enables the students to understand the contextual insights of business scenario, and the appropriate application of theoretical knowledge to real business situations. Case discussions are supplemented with guest lectures, seminars, management games, role plays, industrial visits, group exercise, live research projects, simulation. At the end, the students are prepared to reflect the alignment between theoretical knowledge and practical scenario and bridge between classroom learning and real business challenges.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

• NSB accepts company & self-sponsored applicants with a minimum 3 years of work experience.
• The candidates must have graduation in any discipline with 50% and above marks (or an equivalent CGPA) by any recognized university (5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP*).
• For self-sponsored candidates, the applicants must have a valid CAT/XAT/GMAT/Other Management Score.

Program Fee and Financial Assistance

NSB aims to provide equal opportunity to all the eligible candidates for pursuing PGDM (Executive) program. The assistance is provided to the candidates in availing loans from banks.

NSB offers financial assistance to the students through scholarship schemes. The scholarship is provided to the students under following category:

Program Overview

PGDM (Executive) program includes twelve months of classroom learning and six  months of project work. The PGDM (Executive) program is best suited for working professionals to add value to their career and prepare visionary leaders for the energy sector. Experience sharing seminars for peer learning and live industry project under expert guidance to enhance learning outcomes. These activities help analyze situations and apply skills to real business situations.

PGDM (Executive) program enhances awareness and skill levels to comprehend enactments, related market and institutional dynamics and to devise interventions related to the energy sector.

Advantages of learning theoretical and practical aspects of management from professors of IIMA and NSB, experienced professionals and peer group learning.
The programme includes rigorous course work and enriches learning through project work.

Global Immersion Programme

The PGDM (Executive) program includes a two week international immersion program. It leverages the opportunity to learn from culturally diverse contexts and enhances competitive advantage to deliver in a globalized inter-dependent business environment. The first and second batch of PGDM (Executive) program visited the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The third and the fourth batch visited Judge Business School, Cambridge University, UK and the latter visited the ESCP London and Madrid too.

Course Curriculum

The course curriculum includes core and elective courses. The curriculum is designed by experienced faculty members from IIM Ahmedabad, and experts from various reputed institutions, and veterans from leading global energy organizations. Elective courses are offered having relevance as per industry requirements.

How to Apply

• Application form is available at the link here and must be submitted online. NSB does not accept admission applications offline.
• Applicant should complete the online registration & application form; submit the same along with the application fee and applicable taxes only (non-refundable) using payment gateway.
• After the submission of the application form successfully, the applicant will receive confirmation email.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invited from company-sponsored and self-sponsored candidates.

• The candidate must have scored 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both X and XII classes.
• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university (Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled tribe (ST)/Differently Abled Persons (DAP) to 45%. The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must be based on a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
• Working professionals should have a minimum 3 years work experience.
  Self sponsored candidates must have a valid CAT / XAT / GMAT/ OTHER MANAGEMENT SCORE

Selection Process

The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGDM- Energy Management and PGDM-Executive (self-sponsored) at NTPC School of Business is a two-step process.

In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Personal Assessment (PA) from among the candidates who applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme.

The next step of final selection is based on the merit of Final Composite Scores (FCS). The more detail about the computation of the scores and selection process is as follows.

• For both PGDM (Energy Management) and self-sponsored PGDM (Executive) programme, the candidates are shortlisted for the Personal Assessment (PA) based on of the Composite Score (CS).
• The Composite Score (CS) is calculated by computing CAT / XAT / GMAT/ OTHER MANAGEMENT SCORE, Academic Performance (Xth, XIIth, Graduation) and diversity factors (both Academic Diversity & Gender Diversity)
• The applicants shortlisted for Personal Assessment (PA) on the basis of CS. The cut-off for shortlisting candidates Personal Assessment (PA) is decided by NSB.
• The Final selection is based on Final Composite Scores (FCS) that is calculated by using CS, Work Experience and PA scores.

• Selection will be based on merit from pool of applicants.
• PA of Short-listed applicants might be conducted online due to COVID pandemic. The detail guideline in this regard, will be updated in due course.
