ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The Pune District Education Association manages 127 educational institutions in the Pune area. PDEA's College of Engineering established an MBA program as a distinct department in 2009.
This is a two-year (four-semester) full-time curriculum affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University and authorized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The curriculum is similar to that of Savitribai Phule Pune University, but in the first year of the MBA program, all students take the same course together and the diverse inputs on Accounts, Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behavior, and Economics challenge the students to see deeply into fundamental business practices and the underlying forces that make them work
The curriculum mixes practical answers with the development of wide perspectives and intellectual abilities; students learn to employ a variety of academic disciplines to analyze and comprehend significant business challenges. Coursework will prepare them to analyze events, identify issues, design solutions, and apply them within the framework of an organization. As a result, the curriculum blends the study of major conceptual frameworks with the application of those frameworks to business today.
In the second year, in addition to a few advanced courses in the basic areas, students have the option to specialize and build capabilities in one of the following areas: Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and we provide all of the specializations as listed in the Pune University MBA Syllabus.
The MBA curriculum also organizes students into study groups of five to seven people who work on projects and present as a team. This small group style encourages students to build professional and personal relationships that will last a lifetime. It also closely resembles real-world business, which is based on cooperation and teamwork.
