SRISIIM as its Constituent institution came into existence through a joint effort of some eminent personalities under the able leadership of Guruseva Dhureena Dr. V. R. Gowrishankar, the Administrator & CEO of Jagagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasansthanam, Dakshshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri who’s initiative to promote a new management credo-The VIVEK MANAGEMENT, purported to make an endeavor of developing Indian School of Thought in Management and Leadership. After painstaking efforts by those eminent personalities, the objective was set out: to produce value-enriched leaders, who shall create corporate environment of excellence, with the strategic intent of reviving the pristine glory of India. Recognising the growing significance of value orientation to business in particular and education in general, the need arose for establishing a School of Management and a Centre for Research, which would strive to impart the lofty ideals of character building to future corporate leaders, apart from education in conventional management skills and techniques. That said idea translated into reality in 1994, during the Vijay Yatra of His Holiness, Jagadguru Mahasannidhanam, the 36th Ruling Pontiff of Dakshinamanya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri. Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam blessed the final decision to set up a unique institute of Research & Study on Leadership and Management with the focus on Ancient Indian Scriptures, Indian Spiritual Wisdom and Bhagavad Gita thorough Indian Ethos and Universal Human Values. This is an Autonomous Institution approved by Ministry of Education Govt. of India for Post Graduate Masters Programmes in Management with the specialised Study on HR Management, Marketing Management, International Business, Business Analytics, Financial Management simultaneously with its core activities of Research & Development.
