Prof Noor Afzal a celebrated scientist, Emeritus Fellow (AICTE) was a chairman of department of Mechanical Engineering and founder chairman of department of Computer Engineering at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University.
He was also an officiating Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (1998 – 2004). Prior to that he was professor at IIT – Kanpur (1970 -74) and Al-Fateh University, Tripoli (1985 – 90). His original work on ‘Turbulent motion of Fluids’ has a wide application in anything that moves.

His pioneering study of flow on moving and stretching surfaces has formed the basis of extensive work internationally, and his fundamental contributions to the study of mixed convection in buoyant plumes has been followed by up several well known workers all over the world.
He has been widely published and quoted in the scientific community across the world and has been conferred various awards and honors like British Council Fellow 1977 Younger Scientist Exchange program.
