The School of Law at IILM University, Greater Noida, offers the LLM one-year post-graduation law course. The course is directed towards providing detailed knowledge in the field of law and helps students to pursue the higher and advanced areas of law. It has been strictly put into circulation in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and it is highly based on research, practical exposure, and professional skills.
Some of the key areas covered in the course of study in LLM include constitutional law, corporate law, intellectual property rights, international law, human rights, cyber law, environmental law, and dispute resolution. The program enables students to comprehend how laws are made, applied, and interpreted in real situations.
The students seeking admission to the LLM program must have completed LLB or an equivalent Law degree having secured at least 50% marks. In the case of reserved category students, it is 45%. Admission will be granted based on entrance exams or the university's own test. Academic review, a written test, and personal interview will also be part of the selection process. More emphasis is provided for research interest and legal understanding rather than just marks.
The LLM program focuses heavily on practical learning. Students participate in moot courts, legal drafting exercises, case studies, and legal research work. Smart classrooms with digital tools study real court cases and their legal problems. The university invites guest lectures and workshops for experienced judges, lawyers, and experts in the field.
The course also includes sufficient opportunities for internship, wherein students get to work with law firms, courts, NGOs, and corporate legal departments. This helps them gain real experience and understand different career options in law.
Students can also work on research projects and choose focused study areas such as corporate law or criminal law. The course builds skills in legal writing, presentation of arguments, arbitration, and policy analysis.
