The two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management at the JK Business School is approved by AICTE. This course is made for the benefit of the students to make them ready for actual jobs in the corporate sector. This course makes the students aware of how things are done at the workplace in a business organization.
One of the most prominent aspects of the PGDM course available at the JK Business School is the option to have double specialization. It allows students to have two areas of expertise in the field of business simultaneously, unlike other courses where students have to focus on a single specialization. It allows them to have broader knowledge and gets them better job opportunities.
To apply for PGDM courses, one should have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. The required percentage for general category students should be at least 50%. However, for students belonging to a reserved category, a 45% score is required. Final-year students in graduation are also eligible for applying, and their admission is provisional until their final marks are submitted.
The procedure for admission is very straightforward. Candidates first have to submit an online application form accompanied by an application fee. Thereafter, candidates may either sit for the JK Business School entrance test or send performance results of any of the following national-level management entrance tests.
The candidates who are shortlisted will be invited for the next round of selection. The next round of selection includes a Written Ability Test (WAT) and a Personal Interview (PI). In the Written Ability Test, candidates are required to write on a simple topic to test their thinking and writing skills. The Personal Interview allows the committee to know about the candidate’s interest in management studies, communication skills, and future plans.
The final list is arrived at on the basis of performance. The weightage given to entry test performance is 35%. The Weighted Aptitude Test, Personal Interview, or Group Discussion is given a weightage of 45%. Academic performance has a weightage of 10%, while extracurricular activities or gender diversity accounts for the remaining 10%. There are no cutoffs, and candidates are evaluated on all performance, not just a single test performance.
While pursuing the PGDM course, the candidates learn basic management topics that are critical in any business function. Alongside, they also learn analytics, technology, leadership qualities, finance, operations management, and business intelligence. The learning process in the institution focuses extensively on practical learning. The candidates engage in live projects, examine examples of companies, and conduct business simulation exercises. All these enable them to grasp reality in business operations as well as train them in their future careers after the completion of the course.
