Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2026 results will be out soon for the applicants waiting for their results. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, may announce the MHT CET Result 2026 for Session 1 on its official website, cetcell.mahacet.org, in the 1st to 3rd week of June 2026 for both PCM and PCB. This year, the MHT CET has been conducted in two sessions for the first time. Therefore, the students can’t predict any final outcome or the exact date of declaration of results.

MHT CET 2026 Result Date – When Will It Be Announced?

MHT CET 2026 results are likely to be released in the 2nd week of June 2026. The result will be declared on the CET Cell website, namely cetcell.mahacet.org. The objection window of the final answer key was closed on May 30, 2026.

According to some of the reports, students can expect the release of the MHT CET Result 2026 for Session 1 soon, but it is important to note that the CET Cell hasn't announced the date of the result yet. Check and download the MAH CET 2026 PCM and PCB Results Online (both attempts) as per the following steps:

3. The MHT CET scorecard login window will open

MHT CET 2026 Marking Scheme — Know Before Checking Your Score

Candidates will use knowledge of the marking scheme to help them make an informed guess at their score. The MHT CET marking scheme provides 1 mark for every correct answer in Physics and Chemistry and 2 marks for every correct answer in Maths. The exam is based on a 'no negative marking' system, which means that candidates may attempt every question without risk of losing marks for getting them wrong. The percentile is calculated using a normalisation method based on performance across sessions.

MHT CET 2026 Normalisation Method — How Percentile Is Calculated

The difficulty of the question paper sets may vary slightly, as the MHT CET entrance examination is offered in many shifts on various days. Candidates who had a more difficult set of papers will get less marks than candidates who had an easier set of papers. To account for this, the authorities employ a statistical normalisation formula to make scores fairly comparable; the final percentile is derived from that normalised score. The authorities have stated they will look at the highest mark in both attempts for students appearing in both.

MHT CET 2026 Qualifying Cutoff — Minimum Marks to Qualify

Normally, the 45th percentile in the General category and the 40th percentile in the reserved category are necessary to appear for the exam. If marks are considered as raw scores, the candidates of the General category should be able to get around 90 marks, whereas the candidates of the SC, ST and OBC categories generally get 80 marks.

MHT CET 2026 Expected Cutoff for Top Colleges

For the top institutions such as COEP Pune, VJTI Mumbai, SPIT Mumbai and PICT Pune, the percentile cutoffs for the open category range from 98.5 to 99+ in 2025. Therefore, the students should be able to achieve marks in the 99+ percentile range in 2026 as well to secure admission to these best institutes.

MHT CET 2026 Toppers List

The Maharashtra CET Cell will be announcing the MHT CET 2026 toppers list with the Maharashtra CET Result, and a candidate will be included only if he/she will have obtained a 100-percentile score. On the PCM list, the top 20 students will be announced separately and similarly for the PCB list. As a reference, the rank 1 in the MHT CET group PCM for the year 2025 was MEER VIPUL BHUVA, and the rank 1 in the group PCB was HARI SHRINIVAS AMBARKAR. When results are announced, it can be assumed that similar announcements will be made for 2026.

After MHT CET 2026 Result: Counselling & Admission Process

After the MHT CET result 2026 is announced, the CET Cell will notify the dates for counselling and the admission process, which is expected to start from mid-June 2026. Candidates who get the cutoff will be asked to complete registration in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) of DTE Maharashtra. The CET Cell will release two separate merit lists, including MHT CET 2026 score merit list and the JEE Main score merit list. MHT CET Score Card is a compulsory document to undergo the successful counselling process. So, the candidates are requested to have more than one of their score sheets with them till the admission process is over.
