MTech is a two-year post-graduation course in engineering. It aims to provide the best possible knowledge to those candidates who have completed their B.Tech. or similar qualification. It is best suited for those candidates who want to enter the core industry, research, and studies. To apply for MTech, candidates should have a minimum 50% marks in their graduation. Admission to MTech can be done in three ways, namely GATE, Common ADYPU Entrance Test, or interview, based upon the stream in which candidates want to apply.
The courses provide a number of specializations, such as VLSI Design, Structural Engineering, Machine Learning, and others in emerging technologies. All the specializations are designed in a manner that students get a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter as well as applications. The courses cover advanced subjects, problem-solving methodologies, and engineering applications to prepare students in their core areas.
A strong research-based and practical learning approach is one of the major highlights of the MTech course. Simulations to lab-based experiments, and from technical projects to various small-scale projects, are undertaken throughout the course. For this purpose, MATLAB, ANSYS, and other industry-related software are in wide use to help students learn faster by practicing the complex concepts. Students, under the mentorship of well-experienced faculty members, participate in various research projects that generally reflect some current need of industry or society.
The program also encompasses a major thesis or dissertation in the final year, wherein the students research a topic of their choice in great detail. Many students use this opportunity to publish papers, file patents, or develop ideas that can turn into startups.
