IIT Guwahati has postponed the GATE Exam Date 2026 for the upcoming session. The IIT took the decision to avoid a clash between the GATE 2026 and UPSC ESE 2026 examinations. Earlier, the college announced four exam dates for GATE 2026. However, out of four, the GATE exam date 2026 is on 08 February 2026 is clashing with the UPSC ESE exam. The college will release the new dates for the examination soon on the official website.

The IIT Guwahati has released the GATE 2026 schedule online at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. As per that, the official GATE notification was released on August 28, 2025. While the online application form filling also commenced on the same day. Go through the table below to know about the GATE 2026.

GATE 2026 Exam Postponed
The IIT Guwahati recently released the GATE 2026 exam date on the official website. As per the schedule, the GATE exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14 & 15. However, UPSC announced its calendar, as per which the ESE is scheduled for February 08, 2026. Due to this, now the IIT Guwahati has postponed the GATE Exam Date 2026, which was supposed to be held on February 08, 2026. Candidates who have applied for the exam must keep a tab on the official website, https://gate2026.iitg.ac.in, for the latest updates.
GATE 2026 New Exam Date
The authorities will release the GATE 2026 new exam date soon for the students. The GATE exam date scheduled for February 08, 2026 was clashing with the ESE exam, which has now been postponed. However, now the authorities will make the announcement for the GATE exam 2026 soon on the official website. It is expected that the examination will be held in the third week of February 2026.
GATE 2026 Exam Schedule
The GATE 2026 exam will commence from February 07, 2026 onwards. However, the GATE exam date 2026, which was scheduled on February 08, 2026, will be announced soon. The examination will have two papers and they will be held in two sessions, namely, morning and afternoon.
