Christ University Bangalore

Christ (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India.[9] Chavara founded the first indigenous Catholic congregation Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831, which administers Christ (Deemed to be University).[9] Established in 1969 as Christ College, the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred autonomy to Christ College in 2004[10] and identified it as an "institution with potential for excellence" in 2006.[11] In 2008 under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared the institution a "deemed to be university" in the name and style of Christ University. Later in 2018, upon the direction of Supreme Court of India, the word university was removed, thus making it Christ (Deemed to be University).[12] Christ was one of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and subsequently in 2004, 2016 and 2022 had been awarded Grade 'A+' on 4-point scale

United Nations Acadmic Impact membership adds  CHRIST ( Deemd to be University) to the UNAI team of 1470 institutions in 146 countries who are working with the United Nations to promote global priorities, including peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

Scholarship 1

Christ Exam Fee Waiver Scholarship:
Exam fee waiver scholarships are provided for economically weak, but diligent students to provide them with equal opportunities to appear and crack competitive practical & theory examinations.
Meritorious are also provided the scholarship.
Further, the scholarship are also provided to eligible students during situations like pandemic where online exams need to be taken remotely.

Christ Cent Percent Attendance Scholarship:
Students who obtain hundred percent attendance in their previous semester are eligible for scholarships in the university.
The list of such students is sent by Head of Departments of the Deans, who in turn forward the same to the Scholarship Committee for further action.

Accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A', Christ Bangalore was established in 1969 and was declared a Deemed-to-be University in 2008 by the Ministry of HRD (Government of India). Every year, over 25,000 students enrol in various UG and PG courses offered by Christ University (Deemed-to-be) across all five campuses located in Bangalore, Delhi NCR and Lavasa Pune The Bengaluru central campus of Christ (Deemed-to-be) University is located in Hosur (Bengaluru) and the other two Bengaluru-based campuses  Bannerghatta and Kengari, are located at a distance of 25 km and 35 km, respectively, from the main campus. It was ranked 71 under the 'University' category for NIRF 2022. Currently, Christ University (Deemed-to-be) offers over 30 UG and over 40 PG courses across various streams. All these courses are offered via the nine schools working under Christ Bangalore which include the School of Architecture, School of Sciences, School of Law and School of Business & Management, among others.
