MBA and MBA (Analytics) are full time two-year residential flagship programmes of the institute. The MBA programme has been recently redesigned to take it ahead of the industry cutting edge concepts by making it more futuristic adding diverse skill sets and perspectives through introduction of many new core offerings such as Design Thinking and Experiential learning. These differentiators coupled with enablers such as critical thinking, leadership and leadership communication are intended to enrich the candidates with skills for the future. A strong focus on analytics is enabled by offering both core and electives to make it a formidable career option.
MBA (Analytics), which was launched in 2020, aims to shape the business analytics education and create more data aware managers. The programme is designed to allow the graduating class to contribute across sectors with their specialisation of analytics and data-based management. The programme equips the participants with astute application-orientation based on a strong foundation of theory and experience from across industries.
IIM Kashipur also offers Executive Education. Its MBA for Working Executives (EMBA) is a specialized two-year post-graduate programme conducted during weekends at IIM Kashipur Dehradun Campus, exclusively designed for middle and senior-level professionals. The Executive MBA has also been restructured to align with entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial trends by introducing digital dexterity and strengthening the orientation towards social situation, industry trends and global practices. The programme will confirm to globally accepted norms of executive MBA enhancing the value-addition to participants and the acceptance of the qualification across industries, sectors and geographies. Keeping pace with the fast-changing business environment, IIM Kashipur offers specialized short-term management development programmes aimed at leadership development, data analytics skills, interpersonal skills and cross-functional management skills. Its postgraduate certificate programme in AI and Machine Learning and various executive development programmes such as Applied Financial Risk Management, Financial Data Analytics, Digital Marketing and Analytics, Managing Products and Branding, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Analytics, Strategic Management, and Strategy and leadership, equip managers with necessary skills to become agile and stay relevant.
IIM Kashipur puts a great emphasis on research and critical thinking. The Doctoral programme in management is a full-time residential programme designed to address the needs of professionals for research, teaching and academic careers. The programme encourages intellectual curiosity and trains participants to undertake high quality research. The updated design of the Doctoral programme aligns it to current global academic trends. The programme emphasises on training to develop cutting-edge interdisciplinary research trends and future teaching and management roles. This is attained by delivery based on three fundamentals of theory, concepts and research methodology. The programme allows complete flexibility to areas to offer a highly specialised programme while developing research and writing skills across the various areas that the programme is offered in by respective areas.
The institute has established three centres of excellence that are envisaged to serve as the intersection of scholarship, education, training, research and consultancies putting a breakthrough interdisciplinary approach at the service of students as well as government and private entities. These centres of excellence facilitate interdisciplinary programmes and research. Currently, there are three centres of excellence: the Centre of Excellence on Public Policy and Government (COEPPG), Design Innovation Centre (DIC), Foundation for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development (FIED). Each centre is committed towards cutting-edge research, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and sustainability while enabling the ecosystem to achieve the institute’s strategic goals.
IIM Kashipur is a student driven campus – from placements to functional work, from academic to non-academic activities, there is a student body for each discipline. The students organize various flagship programmes such as Agnitraya – the annual cultural fest; TEDx; Management Conclave; Uttishtha – the annual entrepreneurship summit; Tejas – Leadership Talk Series and the MBA lecture series.
